Hi Fruzsina!

I'm so jealous you're heading there; you're going to love it! We stayed at Yenbuba Homestay in an on-land bungalow for the private bathroom, but in hindsight, I'd recommend saving money and staying in an overwater bungalow. You still have to step outside to access the private bathroom anyway.

We arrived on June 20th and stayed five nights (June 20-25) for $431.01 USD for two adults. The Sorong-Waisai ferry cost $15.27 for two, and our homestay-arranged group pickup in Waisai was $24.34 for two. To get back to Waisai, we spend $48.68 on a private boat charter arranged by the homestay.

The rain was no issue; it sprinkled occasionally, mostly at night, but cleared up during the day, especially on Kri. Storms seemed to pass the island in the distance. The clouds made for stunning sunsets, we even saw a double rainbow! The water clarity was incredible due to the lack of plankton during the rainy season. While there were no manta rays, the dives were focused on smaller but equally amazing creatures; I loved the tiny seahorses and saw a lot of turtles. Plus, the off-season meant fewer people. We were one of just a few boats at dive sites, whereas in peak (manta) season, divers say bubbles from crowded groups can block the view.

I’m sure the weather can vary, but our experience was fantastic. Wishing you an amazing trip; let me know if you have any other questions!

Best,
Tanya

Hello Tanya, beautiful recap of the transfers and everything in this area. I am going with my family to Indonesia and Raja AMpat in August 2025. Could you please let me know the price of the bungalow you stayed in on Kri Island? and the weather.... I have read that may-October is more rainy, how rainy was it?
Thank you for your answer in advance. Best regards, fruzsina
