How the idea of traveling full time came to fruition
Main Character Introduction | Welcome to my Travel Blog
Hey there! How’s it going? I’m Tanya, just your average mid-twenties gal, trying my hand at this whole travel blog thing. I used to think the idea of a “travel blog” was so cliché and overdone. Why would anyone want to read about my travel adventures, right?
Living in Boston During the Pandemic | Trying the Digital Nomad Lifestyle
In the middle of a global pandemic, I would spend hours at my computer, often daydreaming about affordable flights to Iceland, the vibrant food scene in Vietnam, and the hidden beaches of Latin America. I loved getting lost in researching the best camera gear, imagining how I’d capture every moment of my future adventures.
After the pandemic, as life settled into a new normal, my partner Alex and I decided it was time for a change. With remote work now an option and the high cost of living in Boston, we packed up our Honda Accord and embraced the digital nomad lifestyle. We hit the road, traveling across the United States, staying in Airbnbs, house sitting, and visiting friends along the way. It was an adventure that allowed us to explore new places while working remotely.
Quitting Our Corporate Jobs to Spend a Year in Asia | Starting a Travel Blog
During our stay in Oregon, Alex’s best friend, Tyler, proposed a wild idea: “Why don’t we quit our jobs and fly to Southeast Asia?” And just like that, the idea of leaving the States was born. We spent the next year debating (6 months), deciding on destinations and booking flights (3 months), and planning every detail (3 months).
So, here I am, writing my own digital nomad travel blog. I guess now I’m one of those travel influencers (hopefully a helpful one!). Even if no one reads this blog, at least I’ll have my experiences recorded. I hope you enjoy reading about my adventures as much as I enjoy sharing them. Thank you for joining me on this journey!
